Report by Sir Laurence New on the Island-wide Breakfast weekend - Saturday 28 June 2008

Noel and Coral Fellowes arrived on Friday morning and toured the South of the Island.  They had to imagine the views as visibility was almost zero. Thanks to the kindness of Graham and Ann Derbyshire they were accommodated in great comfort.  Applications to attend the breakfast were still coming in to our long suffering ticketmaster David Holmes at 10.45 that evening  bringing the total to 116. The team met at 0700 on the Saturday morning and as Hilton suite began to fill a further nine arrived (necessitating an additional table) bringing the total to 125. There was a real "Joy of assembly"  as we sat together regardless of denomination.

Noel spoke very well giving a totally unfudgeable testimony.  He led us together in prayer at the end and eighteen people indicated that they had asked the Lord for the first time to enter their lives as Saviour and Master. Noel signed his book "Killing Time" and spoke to as many people as possible at the Hilton and later at the Baptist Bookshop.  Many copies of the book, kindly obtained by the Baptist Bookshop, were sold and should be a blessing to the new believers who, where possible, were to be followed up by those from the various churches of all denominations who had brought them to the breakfast.

Nigel and Lynn Collins hosted the Fellowes for the rest of the Day returning them to the Derbyshires thereafter.  On Sunday morning Noel spoke at the Broadway Baptist service on "What we reap we sow".  It is known that many were encouraged and at least one person responded very positively to the address and to the Ministry thereafter, and all the remaining books were sold. In the evening Noel shared his testimony at the Salvation Army Citadel where it brought challenge and encouragement to all present.

Noel and Coral departed early on Monday morning and we have since heard from them that they enjoyed their time on the Island hugely.

The P and P team would like to thank all those individuals and organisations who helped with publicity, financial support and above all prayer.  We meet as a Pray and Plan team on 12 July to review what the Lord would have us do next year.
