Tomorrow morning we are going to do some shopping in Suceava, then go to Radauti to see our friends Ian & Sue Paxton. Dru will be giving her money managing talk to a group of people who Ian and Sue work with through the charity http://www.jars.org.uk/
Saturday we are going to do some deliveries for our friend Delbert. He has now gone back to USA for the winter but had not managed to deliver all his produce.
We have 26 sacks (50kg each) to deliver and some barrels of sunflower oil. We will be taking some of the produce to orphanages both in Dorohoi & Botosani. We will also be driving to Radauti Prut (about 50k away). This is the area that was severely affected by floods in the summer and we will be distributing flour to a number of families in the area.
Sunday morning we will be going to the church at Varfu Campului in the morning, not sure as yet what else we will be doing.
One of the questions we are often asked is “Is it getting any better in Romania” and I think at the moment we would say No! There are still many families existing on next to nothing. For instance one young family have £40 a month income, it costs them £25 to rent a small room with no sanitation or running water. That leaves £15 a month for food, heating etc!! In Dru’s words “The sums just don’t add up”. Thank you to everyone who has supported us with the work of Hands of Hope, through the year and for this Mission trip. It is going to be a joy for us to be able to help these families. We will be making up parcels as gifts for Christmas which will contain, food, school supplies, toiletries, clothes, blankets and toys.
Love and Blessings to you all
